One of Rivos’ core design principles is to make it as simple and seamless as possible to adopt our solutions. Compatibility and consistency with leading software tools and components are central to this vision.

By adopting a range of open hardware architectures, open-source software, and industry standards Rivos delivers cutting edge, scalable AI solutions that enable fast development cycles and seamless interoperability through widely adopted standards.

Software First

Our hardware is purpose-built with the full software stack in mind, enabling effortless integration and performance. A major focus is supporting the reuse of existing data-parallel algorithms from today’s deep learning frameworks. We embrace a flexible, programmable, open-source approach, designed for today’s demands and ready for what’s next.

Open Hardware

Rivos has based the CPU functionality for our Data Center solutions on the open standard RISC-V Instruction Set Architecture. This brings a wealth of benefits since it is a collaborative architecture that has contributors from across the semiconductor and OEM space.

As a strong believer in supporting the wider open ecosystem, for both hardware and software, Rivos is central to driving and adopting open standards. Rivos engineers are actively involved in key initiatives at RISC-V International as well as working with open source RISC-V software developers as a founding member of RISC-V Software Ecosystem (RISE).

Industry Standard Adoption

Interoperability is key for ease of adoption alongside existing technologies.

Rivos has adopted a range of standards including Ultra Ethernet providing high bandwidth interfaces for scale up and out, directly interconnecting small clusters and using off the shelf Ethernet switches to build clusters of tens or hundreds of thousands of GPGPUs.
