A key advantage of the deployment is Spillbox’s robust checkpointing and requeuing system. These features allow Rivos to take full advantage of low-cost AWS Spot Instances while minimizing the impact of interruption.

By leveraging Spot Instances and Spillbox’s auto-scaling capabilities, Rivos gains access to a much larger pool of hardware at a fraction of the cost of traditional cloud or on-prem expansion. Minimal idle resource costs, fine-grained control over file ingress and egress, and under 2.5% overhead for NFS caching cost, makes Spillbox a practical choice for high-volume simulation workloads.
